Van Dijk offers Salah support following World Cup heartbreak

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has offered support for teammate Mohamed Salah after Egypt was knocked out of the World Cup qualifiers. 
Van Dijk has further backed the winger to turn the disappointment into success with the Merseyside club, who are chasing a quadruple.
The north African nation were knocked out by Senegal, with Salah’s other teammate, Sadio Mane, scoring the winning penalty for the African champions. 
“I am sure he will turn the disappointment into success for the rest of the season. We still have everything to play for so, there are a lot of things still to achieve for him,” Van Dijk said as per Mail Online.

The defeat in Dakar elicited mixed reactions from fans across the globe after ‘unfair treatment’ of the Pharaohs during and after the match. 
Salah blasted his penalty over the bar after he was targeted with lasers from the Senegalese fans. 
Speaking after the match, Egypt Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi condemned the incidences but urged his country to focus on upcoming tournaments. 
“Everyone is sad, but we are not broken. That’s what I’d like the players to know,” the minister said, according to KingFut.
Attention now shifts to domestic action, with Liverpool hosting Watford on Saturday.
