Both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are monitoring Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes, with Calciomercato reporting that the 27-year-old is set to leave the French capital this summer.Paredes has made 15 appearances in Ligue 1 this term. However, he has not quite been able to hold down a regular starting spot for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. With that, PSG are hoping to move him on in the summer.Calciomercato reports that they would ideally like around £20.8 million for Paredes. Calciomercato reports that Fabio Paratici wanted him while he was at Roma. And he could look to bring Paredes to Tottenham this summer. But it is also suggested that Arsenal also want the Argentinian. His most likely destination however, is Serie A, with Juventus and Inter Milan both interested.Tottenham may face tough task convincing Paredes to join this summerTottenham were linked with Paredes in January. In fact, it was reported that he was not keen on a loan move to North London as part of a swap deal involving Tanguy Ndombele. So Spurs may be expecting a tough time trying to convince Paredes to make a move. Of course, a deal may be more appealing should they finish in the top-four.Antonio Conte’s men are potentially now in the driving seat for that Champions League spot. And that may give them an advantage over Arsenal in the race for Paredes should they get across the line. The midfielder may not be the most exciting signing for some. He has struggled with a number of injuries during his time in the French capital. But he is also approaching a half-century of caps for Argentina. And he was named in the team of the tournament for the 2019 Copa America. So at around £17 million, he may well be worth the gamble for the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal.
