Aston Villa played out a 0-0 draw with Leicester City today in a game that very much had an end of season feel to it.Villa are playing for pride and final position, while Leicester are focussed on Europe, with a big clash against Roma coming up this week. The Villans have failed to score in three of the last four games now. However, despite the lack of goals, Gerrard felt his striker Ollie Watkins deserved plenty of praise for his efforts at the King Power.“I thought Ollie Watkins was fantastic in the second half; he did lots of running and gave the Leicester defence a tough time. All that was missing today was a goal, but the chances keep coming so a goal will come. They brought Danny Ings in for that reason, although that hasn’t exactly gone brilliantly either. However, Watkins will always give you that effort and running that a lot of players don’t. Even if he’s not scoring, he’s causing a nuisance of himself for defenders with his pace, movement, and energy.Gerrard is obviously happy with his striker.
