About 3 years ago, Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus to continue his legacy of winning major trophies with the clubs he plays for.
But despite the Italian club’s huge reputation, they weren’t a team capable of winning the Champions League or dominating the Serie A for a long period.

Ronaldo would then leave Juventus in the summer for England, and that was when the Portuguese had a chance to decide which team can guarantee success and enhance his renowned legacy of providing trophies in any team he plays for. He had two options which were Manchester City and Manchester United.
Eventually, the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner decided to choose Manchester United, the club he has so much love for. But at the moment, things are not really how the striker had hoped after the Red Devils suffer a defeat against Leicester City.
Ronaldo was thought to be on his way to Manchester City after telling Juventus he couldn’t continue with them. But he would choose Manchester United in the last minute probably due to his history with the club.
That decision is now proving to be a wrong one when considering how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team has played so far this season. Manchester City, on the other hand, look like one of the few favourites to win the Premier League this season and can do well in Europe.
Just like Ronaldo promised when he joined Juventus, he was confident that his addition to the Manchester United squad could be enough for the team to win some silverwares this season after they failed to win any during the last campaign. But it doesn’t look like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have the mentality of champions that can help achieve anything significant this season as they have only won 4 of their last 10 matches and lost 4. They were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup.
There is still much to play for before this season ends and Manchester United can still get back to form. They can even win a trophy this season. Yet, their performance hasn’t been convincing. Choosing Manchester City instead of Manchester United would have bolstered Ronaldo’s legacy and his chances of winning another Ballon d’Or award.
