Ahead of their encounter on Saturday, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta both had differing views on the just concluded international break.

During their respective pre-match conferences, both managers talked up the impact the international break has had on their teams. While one of the managers was elated, the other couldn’t help but express his hatred for the international breaks.
Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta referred to the international break as a “reward” for his players. He also said that the break was”very beneficial”. He cited the case of Emile Smith-Rowe, who was had his first cap for England in the last international break. He pointed out that the experience was a source of “enjoyment and happiness” for the player.

Smith-Rowe had scored during the international break along with teammate, Bukayo Saka. Also, Aaron Ramsdale who also got his first call-up to the English team kept a cleansheet. This three players are very crucial to Arsenal and like Arteta stated, their recent experiences is a source of “enjoyment and happiness” for the players. This might great improve their performance as they visit a solid Liverpool team.
On the other hand, Liverpool manager was not quite pleased with the international break. In his words he stated, “I hate international breaks”. He pointed out that the break was not helpful and that he would have loved for the team to have played the week after the defeat to West Ham.
It is not hard to see why Jurgen Klopp loathes the international breaks. He is currently sweating over the fitness of Andy Robertson and Jordan Henderson, key players who suffered injuries during the break. These players are major doubts for the clash after an inform Arsenal team. Also, Sadio Mane also suffered an injury scare during the break though he is contention to play against Arsenal.

It is going to be an incredible encounter as Arsenal takes on Liverpool. Arteta will be hoping that the fruitful international break for his core players will prove beneficial against the Reds.
