They were stuck at the bottom of the Premier League table after the first three games but recovered brilliantly to make themselves the favourites to finish in the top four. Then, Arsenal suffered three defeats on the bounce and it looked like their season was over again. Thankfully for Gunners supporters, they’re in pole position now after impressive wins over Chelsea and Manchester United in the space of two-and-a-half days.Arteta and co are now planning ahead for the summer transfer window and City star Jesus is one name that has popped up over the last few days. He would be incredible for Arsenal. HITC Sport’s First New Signing REVEALEDGabriel Jesus would be a scary signing for ArsenalWhen you look at Arsenal this season, it often feels like they are just one prolific striker away from becoming a truly top-level side in the Premier League. Their main man, Alexandre Lacazette, has scored just six goals all season, which is simply not enough.Jesus would instantly solve that problem and it’s becoming more and more clear every time he plays. The Brazilian has been in unbelievable form recently. To put into perspective how good he has been, he has scored five goals in his last two games – that’s just one less than Lacazette has managed in the entire campaign. With the likes of Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli around him, Jesus could really thrive at Arsenal and make the Gunners’ attack one of the scariest in the Premier League when everything clicks.‘He’s elite’: Ian Wright seriously impressed by Gabriel Jesus amid Arsenal linksPhoto by Matt McNulty – Manchester City/Manchester City FC via Getty ImagesThe Gunners need more than just one new strikerArsenal are set to lose both Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah at the end of their contracts this summer. That would leave them with just Folarin Balogun, who is currently out on loan, as their natural centre-forward option.Jesus would definitely be an incredible signing for the Gunners. If he’s available, Edu and Mikel Arteta should do everything they possibly can to get him in, but Arsenal need another striker as well. The North Londoners will play in excess of 50 games in all competitions next season and just one recognised forward is simply not enough. It will be interesting to see the approach Edu and Arteta will take once the transfer window opens this summer, especially if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League and are backed by their owners.Rio Ferdinand backs ‘incredible’ Gabriel Jesus to join the Gunners; Edu is already in talksPhoto by David Price/Arsenal FC via Getty Images Have something to tell us about this article?
