The 26-year-old was once viewed as one of the best talents in Spain. He burst onto the scene at Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane and played a big part in helping them win the Champions League a few years ago. Now, things have changed for Asensio. He’s still an important part of the team, but he isn’t undroppable as he once was. He has started just one of Real Madrid’s last four league games and was an unused substitute in the Champions League win over Chelsea yesterday. Asensio’s current contract, which includes a mammoth £442million release clause, will expire at the end of next season, and it is looking likely that he’ll move on this summer. What On Earth Is Going On At Bordeaux?Agent says Arsenal have made an offer for Marco AsensioArsenal are said to be on the lookout for a wide attacker and we all know how much Mikel Arteta admires versatility in a player. Asensio checks those boxes and the fact that he’s still only 26 means he fits the Gunners’ recruitment policy as well. The Real Madrid man has been linked with a whole host of clubs in recent weeks and a member of his camp has now revealed that Arsenal have already expressed their interest. One of Asensio’s representatives reportedly told SportMediaset recently: “Milan’s interest is a pride, a future in Milan is an option. “There are also offers from a couple of English clubs, including Arsenal. We are ready to evaluate every possibility.”Photo by Jose Breton/Pics Action/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesTBR View:Asensio, branded as a ‘world-class’ player by former Spain manager Vicente del Bosque, will definitely attract a lot of interest this summer. The 26-year-old, despite not starting every single game this season, has scored 10 goals in all competitions, which is a very impressive return for a wide player. With Nicolas Pepe’s future up in the air, Arsenal may need to bring in someone who can play on the right flank when Bukayo Saka needs a break.Asensio could well be that player but whether he would be interested to play second-fiddle to Saka is a completely different story.Photo by David S.
