Thomas Tuchel has revealed Kai Havertz was left in ‘huge pain’ after being forced off injured during Chelsea’s defeat to West Ham United with Marcos Alonso also carrying a knock. Havertz was left in discomfort following a challenge from former teammate Kurt Zouma during the first-half at the London Stadium, limping off for treatment shortly after.
2. Ben Chilwell
There are fears that defender Chilwell could miss the rest of the season with ACL damage he suffered in the second half of the win in SW6. He will be out for at least the next six weeks as Chelsea treat his injury “conservatively”.
3. Youngster Trevoh Chalobah had to be withdrawn in the 2-1 victory over Watford in midweek with a hamstring problem and the initial signs don’t seem to be good for Thomas Tuchel. Chalobah had to be replaced after 60 minutes on Wednesday, after the defender was pushed into a midfield role for the second half of the match.
4. Mateo Kovacic
The 27-year-old has been out since October with a hamstring injury sustained in training.
5. Ngolo Kante
Kante has missed the past few games due to a knee injury he picked up against Juventus in the Champions League.
