A hattrick from Joshua King and further goals by Juraj Kucka and Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis sealed the win for the Hornets in front of the Everton crowd.
The result was Claudio Ranieri’s first win as Watford new manager since he took over at the helm of affairs this season. It was also the first time Everton have lost to Watford at home in their entire history.
Ranieri has had an illustrious managerial career but none of his achievements can be compared to winning the English Premier League title with Leicester City in 2015/16 season.
The Italian tactician was appointed by Watford to help turn their fortunes around and save them from relegation troubles. Although he endured a bad start to life in his new job by losing 5-0 to Liverpool last weekend.
The win against Everton could kickstart another fairytale run similar to what he achieved at Leicester City. The 70 year old manager will take inspiration from his Premier League winning campaign with the Foxes and try to replicate that run with Watford.
Like he showed at Leicester, Ranieri knows how to inspire his squad no matter the quality of players available to him and Saturday’s result is a glimpse of what to expect this season
The Hornets showed real determination by coming from behind to take all three points on a ground where they had never won before. With Claudio Ranieri on the side lines, who knows what Watford could go on to achieve this season.
