Verratti wowed Guardiola when PSG defeated City 2-0 in the Champions League in late September, prompting him to declare himself a Verratti fan “”I’m in love” with the midfielder, who also adds, “He’s great.” Even when under duress, he manages to find the passes that free up the middle.”
The Italy international was ecstatic to get such praise from the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager.
What’s been said so far?
“These are undoubtedly phrases that please me,” Verratti told France Info. He is a football expert, a good football player, and one of the people who brings us joy via football.
“So, yes, I’m content.”
Guardiola isn’t the only high-profile figure to praise Verratti recently; in August, his new teammate Lionel Messi called him a “phenomenon” while admitting Barcelona wanted to lure him to Camp Nou.
What does the future hold for Verratti?
Despite Barcelona’s eagerness to sign him and Guardiola’s admiration, Verratti has no desire to leave PSG.
Instead, he wants to finish his career at the club he joined nine years ago from Pescar
“I have a little time left,” the 28-year-old remarked when asked about his ambitions after football. What I do know is that I will always return to this location.”
“I got the opportunity to play with and against great champions, in tremendous matches, and that was what I desired above all,” he continued. I fell in love with this club, which is why I constantly try to give my all in order to repay the trust that has been placed in me.
