Hurray! Iowa State University is now accepting applications for its International Merit Scholarships for 2023.

Applicants for merit scholarships are limited to freshmen international students. In order to determine scholarship eligibility, SAT/ACT scores and high school marks/grades are considered holistically. OneApp scholarship applications are required to be considered for this award.

Scholarship eligibility

• First-year international students who have been accepted and will not be receiving government sponsorship are eligible to apply.
• Complete the OneApp application for Iowa State University
  • Fill out the General OneApp form
  • Apply for an International Student Admissions Scholarship

Applicants who are transferring

Students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and outstanding talent or achievements in the following fields will be awarded international transfer merit scholarships: math, sciences, the arts, extracurricular activities, community service, leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must fill out the OneApp scholarship application.

Applicants to Iowa State University must meet the following requirements

• The award is open to international transfer students who have been accepted to the university and will not receive financial sponsorship through their country of origin.
• Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (B).
• Complete the OneApp application for Iowa State University
  • Fill out the General OneApp form
  • Application for International Student Admissions Scholarships must be completed

The following requirements must be met by applicants in order to maintain this scholarship grant:

Your Iowa State scholarship must be maintained by meeting the following criteria:

• A cumulative GPA of 2.5 while enrolled at Iowa State is required
• Each semester, enroll in a minimum of 12 semester credits (excluding summers).
• Students assessed international tuition are eligible for this award
• Tuition and fees for undergraduate students may only be reimbursed by the award
